Embracing Autism

Explore is funded through the Whaikaha – Ministry of Disabled People to support parents and caregivers of children diagnosed with autism.

The services we provide are:

  • Exploring Autism
  • Teen Life
  • Targeted Parent Support
  • Behaviour Support

Through these services, Explore helps parents to:

  1. Better understand autism
  2. Build on existing strengths and knowledge
  3. Develop new skills to support their child in everyday life

Exploring Autism (0-9 Years)

Exploring Autism is a  programme for parents, caregivers and whānau of children with a recent diagnosis of autism. It is available throughout New Zealand at no cost to families.

Teen Life (10 – 15 Years)

The Teen Life programme aims to empower parents and supporting professionals to understand more about how autism is experienced by autistic teenagers. 

Targeted Parent Support (0-18 years)

This is a practical time limited service. We will work with families to identify goals that support them and their child to develop new skills.
