DSS Credentialing Pathways

Seating To Go delivers workshops to help therapists achieve credentialing; however, the Credentialing Pathway is an MSD-DSS process administered by Enable NZ.

There are two levels of credential for Wheeled Mobility and Postural Management. It is recommended that all EMS assessors familiarise themselves with the Clinical Indicators which distinguish between the two levels of credential, to ensure people receive services from EMS Assessors with the appropriate level of experience.

Level 1 Clinical Indicators

Level 2 Clinical Indicators

Following the completion of the Level 1 or Level 2 Learning and Development Programme for Wheeled Mobility & Postural Management, assessors apply for the credential via EMS Assessor Online on the Enable website.

Any queries regarding the competency framework and credentialing process should be directed to the Enable EMS Assessor Helpline 0800 171 981.

DSS Flexible Funding

The Ministry of Social Development / Disability Support Services provides the option of individualised funding for people and families so they have more choice and flexibility on the type of support services they receive.

This allows them to choose how to spend their allocated budget. Find out how you can get more choice and control over the disability support services you use.

Commencing early 2026, disabled people across New Zealand are able to use their flexible funding to access both assessment services and equipment solutions.

How we can help:

  • Maximise your budget by accessing expert advice from a highly experienced wheelchair and seating therapist—helping you achieve your goals and the best possible outcomes
  • Access an assessment from a credentialed wheelchair and seating therapist, who can apply for DSS Equipment and Modification Services (EMS) funding on your behalf. You fund the assessment; Enable funds the solution. Disability Support Services funding criteria applies.
  • Technical advice, equipment modifications, and repairs to maintain your purchased equipment in optimal condition
  • Independent advice on projected costs over your equipment’s lifespan, helping you plan and allocate budgets for repairs and maintenance.

Supervision and Mentoring

We offer tele-mentoring, clinical supervision and supported case management across New Zealand.

For professional development, contact our Training Lead to arrange clinical supervision—available as joint sessions with a colleague or one-on-one. All supervision and mentoring are tailored to your individual needs.

In selected regions, we also offer co-assessment, assistance with complex appointments and prescriptions, application and EMS advice review and sign-off, as well as credentialing task sign-off
